Ralph was born on March 1, 1920 in Franklin County, Va. He was the son of the late Willie B. and Cora Weaver Lynch. Ralph was a member of the Plainville Unity Baptist Church and he and his wife Ruby were the caretakers of Scott Cemetery for many years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Curling Lynch.
Survivors include: seven children: Marie Murray of Danville, Va., Ralph Lynch, Jr. of Martinsville, Va., Sandra Hankins of Martinsville, Va., Freddie Lynch of Oklahoma City, Okla., David Lynch of Martinsville, Va., Cathy Beam of Ridgeway, Va. and Carole Wood of Meadville, Penn.; four step-children: Larry Kirkland of Washington, Cliff Kirkland of Culpepper , Va., Kathy Grisham of Plainville and Cindi Holley of Gloucester, Va.; 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step-great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services were conducted on Thursday, January 31 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Richard Webster and Reverend Al Cox officiating. Burial followed in Scott Cemetery in Plainville.
The family received friends on Thursday from 10 until the funeral hour at the funeral home.
