Mildred was born on May 18, 1920 in Livingston, Ga. She was the daughter of the late Paul Judson Richerson and Maude Gertrude Simmons Richerson. Mildred was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Franklin Wilson; daughter, Linda Joyce Wilson, sister, Elizabeth “Boots” Elliot; brothers: Claude Richerson and Paul Judson Richerson, Jr.; and son-in-law, Willard Whitfield.
Survivors include: her son, William “Billy” Wilson and his wife Sherry of Calhoun; her daughter, Dottie Whitfield of Calhoun; two sisters: Doris Faye Smith of Calhoun, and Blanche Smith of Ferrell, Ala.; three grandchildren: Mark Whitfield and his wife Jaimie of Calhoun, Windie Stewart and her husband Roger of Harrisburg, N.C., and Nikki Whitfield of Calhoun; four great-grandchildren: Caitlyn and Miranda Whitfield, and Breeana and McKenzie Stewart.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 28 from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Steven Cochran officiating. Burial will follow in Oaknoll Cemetery in Rome.
The family received friends from 5:30- 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 27 at the funeral home.
