Mary was born December 25, 1945 in Lafayette, Georgia the daughter of the late Archie D. and Zella Lucille (Maples) York, was employed for many years in the carpet industry and was of the Baptist faith. Surviving is her husband, J.D. Dillon of Fairmount, step-children, Emily Hill of Rockmart John Dillon Jr. of Murphy, North Carolina, Deborah Dinsmore of Fairmount three grandchildren, Joy Dinsmore, Melissa Smith and Ansley Underwood, two great grandchildren, Destiny and Dillon Smith, sisters, Sue Hayes of Trion, Joyce Moore of Lafayette, Paulette Long (Andy) of Rydal Hazel Mattox (Doug) of Calhoun brothers, Herman York of Summerville, Raymond York of Johns Creek, Wayne York (Jane) of Summerville and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24 2012 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Mattox officiating.
Burial followed in Greenhill Memorial Gardens in Summerville, Ga. at 2 p.m.
The family received friends at the funeral home Monday evening from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers were Jamie Mattox, Kevin Mattox, Michael Long, David Long, Garry Hill and Tracy Dinsmore.
