Martha was born on August 13, 1948 in Gordon County. She was the daughter of the late Fred Ralph Benton and Sally Ann Lay. She was a member of the Corinth Baptist Church and was formerly employed by Mannington. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: two brothers: Rex Benton and Donald Benton; and two sisters: Kathryn Parker and “Baby Ruth” Benton.
Survivors include: her husband, Max Autry of Resaca; one step-son, Scott Autry of United Arab Emirates; one daughter, Lisa Flores and her husband Patrick of Calhoun; one step-daughter, Julia Autry of Dahlonega, Ga.; three brothers: David Benton, Lamar and Hazle Benton and Tommy Benton all of Resaca; two grandchildren: Adam Bradford and Marissa Risien; nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services were conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 14 from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with the Reverend Harold Blackstock and the Reverend Mitchell Crow officiating. The Emmaus Road Quartet had charge of music. Burial followed in the Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers included: Kevin Benton, Calvin Benton, Jason Benton, Michael Johns, Mike Benton, Darrell Brown and Hilburn Smith.
The family received friends from 5 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13 at the funeral home.
