Mr. Chamlee was a retired heavy equipment operator. He was a member of New Town Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Opal Foster Chamlee; two daughters, Juanita Ayers and her husband Wendell of Gray, GA, and Charmaine Conley of Gainesville, GA; four brothers, Claude Chamlee and his wife Pat of McDonough, GA, Danny Chamlee of Hampton, GA, Sammy Chamlee and his wife Jane of McDonough, and Donnie Chamlee and his wife Kathy of McDonough; and three sisters, Anna Pearl Bunn, and Helen Ricks and her husband Dorsey, all of Stockbridge, GA, and Gloria Harvey and her husband Verlon of Hampton. Grandchildren surviving are Eric Ayers, Sr., Michael Ayers, Sr., Faith Sapp, and Garrison Conley. Several great and great-great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. John Robert Chamlee, Jr. will be conducted Saturday, December 15th at 1:00pm from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Hare officiating. Music will be arranged by Bobby and Nancy McFry. Interment will follow in the Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Active pallbearers are Eric Ayers, Sr., Eric Ayers, Jr., Garrison Conley, Brian Gilbert, Rusty Ayers and Gary Hancock.
The Chamlee family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Friday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm.
