Jo Ann was a great and loving mother. She loved the Lord and her family and friends. She never met a stranger. She was an animal lover. If she didn’t go to the animals, they would come to her. Our beloved and precious mother will always be loved and missed.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Sexton; four sons, Jared Long of Resaca, Jeremy Long and his wife Stacey of Sonoraville, Josh Long and his wife Laura of Calhoun, and Jody Sexton and his wife Julia of Troy, Ala.; a daughter, Jennifer Mann and her husband Heath of Calhoun; five brothers, Terry Wooten and his wife Elaine of Ft. Payne, Ala., Kenneth Wooten and his wife Doris of Rainsville, Ala., Dale Wooten and his wife Nelda of Fyffe, Ala., Jerome Wooten of Crossville, Ala., and Mark Wooten and his wife Teresa of Rainsville, Ala.; two sisters, Barbara Goniea and her husband Bob of Dalton, and Gale Pendergrass and her husband Bobby of Geraldine, Ala.; a sister-in-law, Ann Wooten of Valley Head, Ala.; and grandchildren, Emma Merissa Long, Brianna Rose Cook, Kristen Hope Cook, and James Ryan Cook; and a brother-in-law, Chester Sexton of New Brockton, AL.
Funeral services for Mrs. Jo Ann Sexton were held Tuesday, November 13 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home, with Rev. Bobby Pendergrass and Rev. Derek Hall officiating. Active pallbearers were Jared Long, Bob Goniea, Dale Wooten, Kenneth Wooten, Terry Wooten, and Mark Wooten.
The family received friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home Monday from 5-9 p.m.
