Daneward was born January 27, 1948 in Gordon County, son of the late John Howard Sutherland and Cora Barnette Sutherland. He was a member of the Union Grove Baptist Church and was employed by Southeastern Freightlines as a driver for over 20years. Daneward will be missed and remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Diane Sutherland, son; Shaun Daneward Sutherland, daughter; Stephanie Kinman and her husband Brad all of Calhoun. One brother; Darrell Sutherland of the Nickelsville Community, two sisters; Geraldine Culberson of Adairsville and Carolyn McGinnis of Nickelsville. Three grandchildren; Dalyn Silvers, Jaxson Silvers, and Hudson Kinman. His mother in law; Monnie Kirby as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 15th at 2pm from the chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Rev. Donald Collum officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Mark Harris in charge of graveside rites and honors provided by the Georgia State Honor Guard. Music will be arranged by Faye Pierce.
Pallbearers serving include; Gary Pass, Earnest Blalock, Keith Harmon, Greg Culberson, Billy Hiles, and Gary Fuller. Honorary pallbearers will include; Terry Poarch, J.R. Boyd, Bob Langley, and employees of Southeastern Frightlines.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 9pm on Friday, December 14th at the funeral home.
