Arlin was a Christian and attended Heritage Baptist Church. He loved gospel music and had several singing groups over the years, most recently “The Master’s Three”. Arlin was a very successful businessman and was the founder of the Calhoun Auto Auction.
He loved fast cars and anything to do with racing. He was an avid NASCAR fan and loved drag racing. He raced many years at North Georgia Speedway and several other tracks.
He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Ashley Conner of Calhoun, GA, Angela D. and David Plumley of Dalton; son and daughter-in-law, Timothy and Kristy Conner of Dalton; grandchildren, Zach Plumley, Morgan and Josh Roberts; great-grandson, Ranger Roberts; sisters and brother-in-law, Sissy and R.B. Buttrum of Calhoun, Coleen Wilson of Dalton; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Trish Conner of Dalton, Ray Conner, Avery Conner both of Chatsworth, Ga., Eddie and Linda Conner, Terry and Nancy Conner all of Calhoun; lifelong family friend, Nancy Helton of Knoxville, Ga.; many special nieces and nepehws.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Arlin D. Conner will be held Thursday, November 29, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Reverend Delmar Davenport officiating. He will be laid to rest at Haven of Rest Cemetery with his close family serving as pallbearers. His nephews will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Calhoun Chapel 6-10 p.m. Tuesday and 4-10 p.m. Wednesday and after 10 a.m. Thursday until the service hour.
