The Gordon County Parks and Recreation Department hosted the 6-year-old Invitational Dizzy Dean State Tournament this past weekend at the Sonoraville Recreation Complex, bringing 20 teams from all over the state to Gordon County.
It was the first of two straight weekends of state tournament action at the Sonoraville Complex, as it will also host the 13-year-old Dizzy Dean State Tournament this weekend.
The finals of the 6-year-old tournament were held on Monday night as the tournament had dwindled down to just three teams (Hobgood Storm, Bartow Blue, Southwest All-Stars).
The lone local team in the tournament, the Gordon County All-Stars, were defeated by the Paulding Chaos and the Canton Cougars to end their tournament run in two games.
