Gordon Hospital officials are pleased to announce that Jennifer Ward, RN, BSN, has been appointed to the position of Breast Cancer Nurse Navigator for the hospital’s Radiology Department.

According to Raina Sanford, MBA, CRA, RT (R)(M), RDMS, RVT, director of Radiology at Gordon Hospital, Ward brings with her a wealth of knowledge, experience, and compassion into her new role, which includes navigating patients through diagnostic evaluations, educating and supporting each patient to help them make informed treatment decisions, and supporting breast cancer patients throughout their course of treatments.

“We are thrilled that Jennifer has joined our team,” Sanford says. “Not only is she knowledgeable and skilled in patient care, but her warm personality and level of compassion are traits that will significantly benefit our patients as they enter a very difficult and often confusing point of their lives.”

Ward holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Mercer University. Prior to joining Gordon Hospital, she served in the Cardiac Step Down Unit at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta.

“I am excited about my new role and joining the team of Gordon Hospital,” Ward says. “I’m ready to begin my journey.”

Ward and her husband, Wes, reside in Dalton with their six-month-old daughter, Merritt, and two Labrador Retrievers
