Update: "The body remains unidentified, and the Crime Laboratory is utilizing the latest forensic anthropological methods to aid with identification," according to a press release from the Gordon County Sheriff's Office.

Initial reports from the crime lab have ruled out foul play, citing no physical instances of trauma to the body.

Although the case is not being handled as a homicide, it has not been ruled out.

"Our detectives and local GBI agents are still pursuing investigative leads in hopes of making an identification as soon as possible. The Calhoun Police have assisted our Detective Division in area searches and in reviewing possible missing persons reports," said Paris.

Law enforcement are still urging anyone with information to call the Major Crimes Unit 706-629-1244 or the GBI 706-624-1424.
