Two Calhoun men have been arrested in connection with a home break-in that occurred on the afternoon of Nov. 17.

According to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office:

Michael Ledell Mincey, 54, of 122 Holcomb Road, Calhoun, and, John Edwin Talley, 47, of 230 McDaniel Station Road, Calhoun were arrested by deputies and charged with burglary.

At approximately 2:45 p.m. on Nov. 17, deputy sheriffs responded to a burglary-in-progress at a private residence on Everett Springs Road in the Curryville community.

Deputies met with a female victim who reported that she had interrupted two men in the process of burglarizing her home. When she confronted the suspects, the men attempted to flee across her lawn in a pick up truck but became mired in the soft ground.

According to the report filed with the sheriff’s office, the two suspects then fled on foot into a densely wooded area.

After search of the area Mincey was arrested, Talley was arrested later the same evening after surrendering to deputies.

Both are currently being housed in the County Jail pending bond proceedings.
