Sonoraville Middle School FFA members are getting on board with their Heifer and Swine projects. Showman, Robbie Arnold, placed Reserve Supreme Simmental Heifer and first place in his Showmanship class at the Gordon County Young Farmer—Christmas Classic Show, which was held at the Calhoun Livestock Pavilion on December 28, 2012.

At the same show, new comers, Gracy Sexton, Brady Carney, and Thomas Butler entered the show scene for the first time while exhibiting there market hog projects. The swine exhibitors also competed the following day in the Gordon County Young Farmer Prospect Show which allowed them to gain experience in showing against approximately 80 other exhibitors from surrounding FFA and 4-H Chapters

Both Heifer and Swine exhibitors are gearing up for other upcoming shows including: the Pickens Winter Classic, the Georgia Junior National Livestock Show in Perry, Ga. and the Gilmer County Hog Show in March.
