So you think you know high school sports? Well, the Calhoun Times and Prepcentralonline.com are giving you the chance to prove it. Starting today, we're taking submissions from fans who not only bleed their school's colors but from fans who want to share insight and great stories about their schools.

With more than 30 schools in the Prepcentralonline.com coverage area, it's hard for our writers and videographers to be everywhere at once. We want to have team and sports specific bloggers who keep us and the 125,000-plus loyal fans of Prepcentralonline.com updated with all the need-to-know information about their teams.

What's the catch? These aren't bashing blogs.

If all you want to do is slam coaches, players, fans, referees or opposing teams please go somewhere else. We want these blogs to give insights into the sports, fans, players and anything else about local schools.

Of course we also need to know you can write and are willing to abide by the guidelines and be willing to post at least two blogs per week.

Those that are chosen will have a spot on Prepcentralonline.com as well as a link on the team's home page. The best blogs could also be printed in NPCo products. And our best, most well read and interesting bloggers will have the chance to appear on episodes of Gridiron Central to give their take on how the season is progressing.

So what do you have to do? We need samples of your writing. If you're interested, please submit a sample blog or two to prepcentral@gmail.com. Along with sample blogs, we'll need your name, contact number and e-mail address. We're looking for school-specific bloggers for all of our high schools and sports-specific bloggers for the following sports: cross country, softball, cheerleading, volleyball, wrestling, baseball, track, tennis, golf, lacrosse, swimming and soccer.

We left out football and basketball because those sports already have plenty of people talking about them. We want to encourage aficionados and knowledgeable fans of the other sports to chime in with key insights about those area sports as well.

While we encourage submissions, we can't choose everyone. The writing and editing of the blog is up to you. No matter how good your blog is, if it's riddled with spelling and grammar errors, it won't make the cut. If one school gets 10 eager fans wanting to blog, we will whittle it down. While we don't have a set limit per school or per team, we don't want too many cooks spoiling the soup.

So get busy and start submitting your sample blogs now.
