Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston’s Auxiliary hosted the Annual Public Safety Challenge Charity Basketball game at Sonoraville High School in early March. The teams, composed of Calhoun and Gordon County firefighters and peace officers, played a close and fast paced game, with the Calhoun team winning (back) the trophy for their third win in four years. Public safety vehicles and equipment were on hand for viewing, and proceeds benefited The Winners Club.
On Thursday, April 12, the Sheriff and Auxiliary members presented a check for $1000 to representatives of The Winners Club at the Sheriff’s Office.
“The annual basketball game is a fun event that the Auxiliary and I really enjoy hosting. We are pleased to make a donation to The Winners Club again this year, as it is a wonderful organization, which has provided a valuable service to Calhoun and Gordon County for many, many years,” said Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston. “I’d like to personally thank everyone who participated and the Winners Club staff for the wonderful work they do for our community”.
