Sheriff Mitch Ralston pulls a name out of a trash can filled with raffle tickets to announce the winner of the benefit raffle to raise money for retired State Trooper Herman Scoggins, who needs a heart transplant. The winner of the Primo charcoal grill cooker was Glenn Gilstrap. The raffle raised more than $3,000. The Gordon County Sheriff’s Auxiliary sponsored the benefit, and the grill was donated by an anonymous source. All of the proceeds of the benefit raffle are going towards Scoggins’ medical expenses.
