The Character Education Winners at Sonoraville Elementary School for the Month of November were honored with a breakfast from Chick Fil A. The word for the month was “gratitude,” which means “letting others see how they’ve helped you.”

CES hosts Fiesta of Learning
Calhoun Elementary School hosted its annual Fiesta of Learning on Nov. 29. The Fiesta of Learning is an opportunity for parents of ESOL children to gain some helpful information and strategies that they can use at home with their child.
The Fiesta of Learning is also an opportunity to foster a productive partnership between our school and our students’ parents.
During the Fiesta, parents created educational games to play with their children. These games are designed to help students practice basic skills at home, such as multiplication facts, synonyms and antonyms, and contractions, just to name a few.
A special thank you goes to Family Services Parent Involvement Coordinator Marie Funes and all the volunteers who made the Fiesta possible.
Gordon Central students see alumnus on stage
A group of Gordon Central High School students traveled to Piedmont College recently to see Gordon Central Alumnus Chelsey McCleskey’s performance in “A Christmas Carol” on the Piedmont main stage. McCleskey, a recent GC graduate, is presently on a full scholarship as a musical theater major at Piedmont College.
