Calhoun’s “top models” will be on the runway this Sunday afternoon, raising awareness for cancer research, honoring local cancer survivors and showing off some of the season’s latest fashions.

The annual fashion show that benefits the 2010 Gordon County Relay for Life, will be held at the Calhoun Elks Lodge on Sunday, March 21.

The theme this year is “Hooray for Hollywood: The Cure is in the Stars,” said Sandy Reese.

This year’s committee has worked diligently to pull together a fun and inspiring theme in effort to top all previous years productions.

The “stars,” the show’s models, are all local cancer survivors or family members of those who have battled this disease.

Sunday’s fashion show begins with a silent auction at 12:30 p.m. The fashion show starts at 2 p.m.

“We encourage you to come early to check out our great silent auction items,” said fashion show coordinator and cancer survivor Barbara Clark.

A dessert buffet also is included, Clark said.

“Come, have your day on the red carpet and support the cause” she said.

Tickets are $15 and are available at Reese’s Fashion Gallery, The Tot Roost & Teens and Biddy Boutique or at the door the day of the show.
