Former Calhoun High standout Jordan Poole (seated, center) recently signed a contract with the Washington Nationals organization. Poole was drafted by the Nationals in the 14th round of last week's MLB Draft. He will now report to the Auburn Doubledays this week, the Nationals affiliate in the Class A Short-Season New York-Penn League. Their season starts June 18. Also attending the signing were mother Sabrina Poole (front row, from left), brother Casey Poole, father Blake Poole, Nationals scout Eric Robinson (back row, from left), grandfather Hamp Alexander, grandmother Joy Alexander, hitting coach Charles Culberson and Kim Culberson. (Charles and Kim are the parents of former Calhoun standout Charlie Culberson, who recently made his MLB debut with the San Francisco Giants.
