Prep Football: Calhoun moves on; Gordon Central eliminated in first round

It was mixed bag of results for the two local football teams that played their first-round games in the state playoffs on Friday night.

Calhoun defeated Wesleyan, 42-10, at Phil Reeve Stadium to move on into the second round, while Gordon Central was defeated, 24-21, on the road by Morgan County to end their season.

The Jackets will now host Washington-Wilkes in the second round next Friday night.
