CARROLLTON, Ga. (AP) — Police say some parents tried to fight 11- and 12-year-old football players during a chaotic scene at a recreational game in Carroll County.

Authorities say both teams involved are serving suspensions after Saturday's melee at a game between city and county youth teams.

Parent Naketa Parham tells WSB-TV that the violence began when parents from one of the teams rushed onto the field after becoming upset by some of the play calling. Police say several parents ran onto the field and yelled obscenities.

Parham said one of the parents held a boy down and tried to get his helmet off so another child could jump on him.

Police issued citations to three coaches, accusing them of disorderly conduct and obscene language.

People just get dumber and dumber everyday. This is another example of parents trying to live their lives through their children. Lets place more priority on their education than sports. Out of all the kids that play organized sports only a handful make it to the big leagues.

No wonder bullying at school is at an all time high.

Children learn what they see. Show them that it is more important to do the right thing than be right.

Love conquers all.
