Tallatoona has started taking August orders for the One Harvest Food Ministries program, and will take orders in the office thru Friday August 17 till 3 p.m.

Pick-up will be Saturday August 25, 8-9:30 a.m. at Tallatoona located at 121 Newtown Rd. in Calhoun.

Online orders are also accepted by logging onto oneharvest.com until Sunday August 19 until 11:59 p.m. with a debit or credit card.

You can purchase as many boxes as you would like. Buy one for yourself and someone else.

The menu available for food boxes for purchase for the month of August include the “Family Box,” which costs $35, and contains 2-pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts, 3-pounds of split chicken breast bone in, 5-pounds of RTC popcorn chicken, 1.25-pounds RTC chicken breast tenders, 1-pound of lean ground beef, 1-pound Lee pork breakfast sausage, a 12-inch cheese pizza, 1 pound of fresh frozen peas and carrots, 1-pound of fresh frozen shoe peg corn, 1-pound of fresh frozen green beans, 1-pound of fresh frozen butter peas, 15 ounces of instant mashed potatoes, 7.25 ounces of macaroni and cheese, 1-pound 100 percent enriched spaghetti, 2-pounds of pancake mix and one dessert item.

The Golden Cuisine express meals features 10 meals for $29. All are MSG free, and easy to prepare in a conventional oven, microwave or toaster oven. The meals include: Swedish meatballs over noodles with broccoli and black bean blend; macaroni and beef in tomato sauce with carrots, zucchini, and red peppers; Salisbury steak with gravy served on roasted skin potatoes with peas and carrots; meat lasagna with marinara sauce and mozzarella; cheese served with green beans and cauliflower; boneless pork patty in barbecue sauce with sweet potato chunks, sugar snap peas, broccoli and cauliflower; roasted chicken with red skin potatoes, sugar snap peas and carrots; chicken parmesan with mozzarella cheese in marinara sauce over fettuccini, served with turnips and zucchini; chicken and noodle with Brussels sprouts and corn; white turkey and dressing with gravy, corn and green beans; spaghetti and meatballs with corn, peas and carrots.

Another box, the fresh frozen veggie box is $25. All items are fresh frozen. It includes: 1-pound of fresh frozen strawberries, 12-count of frozen southern biscuits, 1-pound of sliced carrots, 1-pound of corn on the cob, 1-pound of broccoli florets, 1-pound of green peas and carrots, 1-pound of mixed vegetables, 1-pound of vegetable gumbo, 1-pound of sliced yellow squash, 1-pound of breaded okra, 1-pound of speckled butterbeans, 1-pound of white shoepeg corn, 1-pound of field peas with snaps, 1-pound of stir-fry mixed vegetables, 1-pound of green peas and 1-pound of green beans.

The chicken special is $19 and includes RTC breaded chicken breast tenders split into two 5-pound bags. The premium grilling special is $40 and includes four 8-ounce USDA choice sirloins (baseball style); four 8-ounce marinated rib-eye and a four-pound marinated chicken breast.
