Mr. and Mrs. David Jackson Lance, Sr. of Calhoun are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Jacqueline Bell Lance, to Dr. Jonathan Elias Vogel, son of Drs. Ruth and Morris Vogel of New York, New York.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bertram Lance, Sr. of Calhoun and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Anderson Bell of Sandersville. A 2003 graduate of Calhoun High School, Miss Lance graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Princeton University in 2007 with a BA degree in Economics. She is employed by Capital One in Washington, D.C.

The groom-elect is the grandson of Mrs. Ruth Vogel and the late Samuel Vogel of Norwich, Connecticut, and the late Hannah and Kenneth Seltzer of Newton Center, Massachusetts. A native of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Columbia University in New York City with a BA degree in Mathematics and Economics, and then earned a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University. Dr. Vogel is a professor of Economics at Columbia University.

An August wedding is planned at the Princeton University Chapel in Princeton, New Jersey.
