Rachel Bethany McCarley and Caleb Floyd Walraven were married at 2 p.m., on Saturday, June 27, 2009, at Rome Baptist Temple in Rome.

The bride elect is the daughter of Mr. Mark McCarley of Calhoun and Wanda McCarley of Adairs-ville. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.J Corbin of Rome, and Mr. Arthur McCarley of Shannon and the late Helen McCarley.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Walraven of Ranger. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Walraven of Ranger and Mr. Harold Dodd of Calhoun and the late Katheryn Dodd.

Dr. Billy Goolesby performed the double-ring ceremony. The program of wedding music was per-formed by Randa Jordan, pianist and vocalist and Wesley Morrison, vocalist. Selection included, “I’ll Forever Love You”, “I Do Cherish You”, and “When God Made You”.

The bride given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father wore a formed gown of white luxe taffeta. The strapless sweetheart bodice was enhanced with beaded silver embroidery. The fitted waistline was cinched with a white satin sash. The full ruched skirt was accented with beaded embroidery into the pickups which continued onto the chapel length train. Her sheer veil was waist length and bordered with white satin. The bride carried an elegant cascade of white roses accented with alstermeria.

Audrey Poarch, of Adairsville, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Cassie Walraven, of Ranger, sister of the groom, Ashley Nix Prater, of Calhoun and Aslan Knowles Dooley of Calhoun. They wore floor length satin gowns in watermelon pink. They wore matching pearl with silver bracelets, gifts of bride. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of daisies in assorted colors hand wrapped with satin ribbon.

Cody Walraven, of Ranger, brother of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Ethan McCarley, of Calhoun, brother of the bride, Andrew Adcock of Calhoun, cousin of the groom, Cody Townsend and Caleb Littlefield, both of Calhoun.

The ring bearer was Hayden Poarch, nephew of the bride. The flower girls were Delaynei McCar-ley, of Carrolton, sister of the bride and Lindsay Bowman, of Calhoun, cousin of the groom, both carried white lace baskets with watermelon pink rose petals. The guest book was attended by Kend-all Bowman, of Calhoun, cousin of the groom.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Rome Baptist Temple Dining Hall. Refresh-ments included the bride’s three-tier cake with butter cream icing accented with pink ribbon and pink dots.

The evening before the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Adairsville Inn. Other pre-nuptial parties included a miscellaneous shower hosted by the ladies of Rome Bap-tist Temple, at the Church; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the ladies of Maranatha Baptist Church in Calhoun; a bridal shower hosted by Audrey Poarch and Ashley Prater. A bachelorette party hosted by Aslan Dooley and Ashley Prater and a Ladies evening and shower hosted by Audrey Poarch.

After a wedding trip to Myrtle Beach the couple resides in Rome.
