Sarah Patterson and Tyler Hill, both of Calhoun were married in a seaside wedding on June 25, 2011 at Panama City Beach, Florida.

The bride was given in marriage by her father, Rickey Patterson, of Calhoun at the 6:30 p.m. ceremony at the Aqua Beach Resort. The groom is the son of Richard and Cathy Hill of Calhoun.

Doug White of St. Andrews Baptist Church performed the ceremony. Music included Bach’s “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring,” Felix Mendelssohn’s “Wedding March,” and Rascal Flatss, “I Won’t Let Go.”

Decorations included sugar white sand beach, clear emerald water. Two white classical columns with greenery floral arrangements, and a tulle and wrought iron bridal path with rose petals, a wedding marquee and poem.

The bride’s attendants included Hope Garcia, of Calhoun; Tonia Derryberry of Calhoun, and Bryanna Darnell of Calhoun. They wore key lime, strapless chiffon dresses an d carried white Casa Blanca lilies.

The flower girl wore a ivory spaghetti strap chiffon baby doll dress that was tea-length.

The bride wore an ivory strapless A-line silhouette with a fitted bodice that flowed into a chiffon skirt. It featured an empire waist that was hand-beaded with ruching detail. The back of the gown included beaded lace detail from waist to hem and a chapel train. She carried a bouquet of white Casa Blanca lilies decorated with her grandfather’s pocket watch.

The groom’s attendants were Josh Gibson of Charlotte, N.C., Billy West of Sugar Valley, and Braxton Burton of Calhoun.

A reception followed the ceremony at Aqua Beach Resort’s media room. The tables were covered in white tablecloths and each table had a cylinder vase filled with teal pebbles and a male fan tail Beta fish. Also on the tables were four lime green votive candles, sand and assorted sea shells.

A memorial table was set up to honor loved ones who had passed. The table included photos, flowers, candles and seashells. Honored were the bride’s grandparents, the late Rev. Alfred Patterson, husband of Cleo “Lulu” Patterson, Dan and Sharon Wingate, and James and Irene Farrell. Also honored were the grooms grandparents, the late Bill and Dot Hill, and the late Bill West, husband of Mary West.

After a wedding trip to Panama City, Florid, the couple plan to reside in Calhoun. The bride is a 2007 Gordon Central High School graduate and is employed in pediatrics. She is also working on her nursing degree at a local college. The groom is a 2003 Calhoun High School graduate and works in orthopedics. He is a 2009 graduate of Georgia Northwestern Technical College with a degree in radiologic technology.
