Ashley Marie Scott and Luis Manuel Santizo were wed on Aug. 1, 2009 at First Baptist Church in Calhoun.

The bride is the daughter of Michael and Dana Scott of Calhoun and the groom is the son of Ri-cardo and Merli Santizo of Calhoun.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Lawrence Silvers.

Paige Rankin, cousin of the bride, of Calhoun, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids included Megan Patterson of Sugar Valley, Katelyn Casteel of Calhoun, and Merlyn Santizo of Calhoun.

Flower girls included Jessica Johnson of Dalton and Hannah Patterson of Sugar Valley. Ringbearer was Anthony Hager of Oakman.

The bride was given in marriage by her father.

The groomsmen were Jose Santizo, best man, of Calhoun, Chaz Russell of Calhoun, Ben Parker of Calhoun, and Matthew Scott, of Calhoun.

All flowers and arrangements were done by Deanie Wyatt of Plainville. Decorations were done by family and friends, also.

A wedding reception was held at First Baptist Church Youth Community Center. Finger foods were served. Family and friends helped with all the food. Wedding cake was done by Walmart, Cal-houn.

On Aug. 2, 2009, the bride and groom left on their honeymoon in Hawaii. The parents of the bride purchased their honeymoon tickets as their wedding gift. They had a great time on the beach, play-ing with dolphins, and shopping. They returned on Aug. 8, 2009.

They plan to reside in Calhoun.
