Dana Nicole Breeden and Benjamin Mason Strickland were married at 4 p.m., Saturday, October 24, 2009, on Womack Farm in Adairsville.
The bride is the daughter of Sammy and Dora Breeden of Rome. The groom is the son of Ralph and Rebecca Strickland of Rockmart.
The Rev. Steve Dennis of Rome performed the double-ring ceremony under a canopy of oak trees. Two hay bales accented with urns of white mums, green spider mums, pink peonies, and pink Peruvian lilies framed the couple.
Alicia Morgan of Cartersville was the matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Jamie Baker of Rome and Charly Jones of Summerville. They wore clover green strapless short chiffon dresses with ruched busts and asymmetrical hems. The bridesmaids carried hand-tied bouquets of pink gerbera daisies and greenery.
Addison Morgan of Cartersville was the flower girl. She wore an ivory sleeveless ballet-length dress of silk dupioni accented with a pink sash and trim and an ivory cardigan. She carried a galva-nized tin pale decorated with green and pink ribbons filled with dried rose petals that had been given to the bride by the groom during their relationship.
Program and bridal attendants were Justin Smith, nephew of the bride; Mari Smith, niece of the bride; Venetia Smith, sister of the bride; and Drusilla Fowler, all of Rome.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, wore an ivory Galina flo-ral print halter gown of satin and chiffon accented with burnout detailing, a beaded empire band, and a sweep train. She wore a pearl and diamond headpiece. Her accessories included a single strand pearl necklace belonging to her late maternal grandmother and a blue Del sol anklet given to the bride by her mother. The bride carried a bouquet of ivory calla lilies hand-tied with pink, green, and ivory organdy ribbon.
Jerry Baker of Rome was the best man. Groomsmen were Matt Rood of Sumter, S.C., and Steve Adams of Rome. Justin Smith of Rome, nephew of the bride, was the usher. Seven Baker of Rome was the ring bearer.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held on the property. Refreshments included the bride’s four-tier chocolate and vanilla cake iced in fondant adorned with green organdy ribbon and pink polka dots. A whimsical bride and groom figurine showing the groom’s love of video games accented the top of the cake. The groom’s red velvet cake was decorated with a replica of his 1993 Ford Lightning.
The evening before the ceremony the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at Sumo Japa-nese Steakhouse in Rome.
Other prenuptial parties included a bridal party luncheon hosted by Charly Jones at the home of Elaine Montague; a brunch hosted by Alicia Morgan at the Coosa House; a bridal shower hosted by the ladies of Friendship Baptist Church; a miscellaneous shower hosted by the bride’s co-workers of the Cherokee Circuit District Attorney’s Office at the Adairsville Inn; a gift card shower hosted by Venetia Smith at the home of the bride’s parents; a couple’s shower hosted by Pat Wood, Heather Smith, Sherri McAlister, Phyllis Ware, and Rebecca Strickland at the Rockmart Depot; a spa day hosted by Alicia Morgan and Drusilla Fowler at Ciao Bella; and a bachelor’s day hosted by Jerry Baker in Atlanta.
After a wedding cruise to the Southern Caribbean, the couple will reside in Rome.
