A 50th anniversary celebration was held in honor of Bob and Marleen Boswell on Saturday, April 10 at the Calhoun Depot. The event was organized by their daughters, Darleen Hall and Carleen Crump. Marleen presented a trip down their 50 year memory lane with narration and photos of their immediate family members. Guests were also entertained with a beautiful slide presentation of the honorees accompanied by special musical selections.

Guests included relatives from various cities in Georgia. The invocation was given by Pastor William Roberts of Salem Baptist Church. He and his wife, Jane, were among many local friends and relatives who attended. A large buffet table included turkey, ham, meatloaf, dressings and many other items. Brooke Hall Dyer, Bob and Marleen’s granddaughter, sang a very touching song for them. Accompanied on the guitar were her brother and sister, Bryan and Brianna Hall. Bryan also sang a favorite song honoring his grandfather’s younger days in the Air Force. He and Brianna displayed their guitar expertise with a duet.

The decorations included gold and white balloons, dinner settings, floral pieces and special long stemmed glasses for the anniversary couple, and also a huge anniversary banner was displayed. They were also presented with matching t-shirts which were scribed on the back with their names and “50 years together and the date” in a huge heart. Guests were happily invited back for their “100th” anniversary celebration.
