Those wishing to make Christmas a little more merry for less fortunate children in the community and also have some fun and fellowship are in luck.

The first-ever Softball Santa tournament will be held on Saturday at the Calhoun Recreation Department starting at 9 a.m.

The event is a double-elimination, men’s slow-pitch softball tournament open to any team interested.

Each player in the tournament is asked to bring one boy and one girl toy as their entry fee which will be distributed to needy parents in the community that are not able to afford presents for their children.
