Donna Jackson of Calhoun was recently recognized with three awards from Whitfield County paramedic. Jackson was named employee of the year and was also recognized for trauma call of the year and pediatric call of the year.

Jackson was given the award for responding to a call involving a young child who was hit by a vehicle while riding his bike in Whitfield County. Jackson was able to resuscitate the boy, who was believed to be dead already, before getting him to the hospital where short of minor brain damage, the young boy is alive and well.

Jackson’s sister, Tracy Smith, also an EMT, praised her sisters accomplishments crediting Jackson for being an excellent paramedic.
