The driver of the Western Express truck, out of Nashville, Tenn., was pulling off of County Line Rd., turning right onto Plainville, when the tractor trailer’s two, rear, right tires became entangled with a yellow protective grate over a gas line.
The line, belonging to Dalton Utilities, began to leak after the collision. Response units from Gordon County Fire Department station one and the Plainville station three responded to the scene, according to Gordon County Assistant Fire Chief Byron Sutton.
According to Lori McDaniel, a spokesperson from Dalton Utilities, the line was a “loop feed,” and gas service was not lost for any customers, as crews were able to isolate the leak.
The driver of the truck was charged with improper turn, according to Georgia State Patrol, and no injuries occurred.
