Spring has sprung at Calhoun Fire Department (CFD) station three.

The Home Depot has donated plants, decorative statues and labor to make the outside of CFD a little more appealing to the eye.

According to CFD Deputy Chief Terry Mills, staff from the Home Depot noticed the CFD’s old flowerbed was in need of assistance, and they wanted to help out.

“They literally came by station three one day, knocked on the door saying they noticed the flowers in the flower bed had died,” explained Mills. “They asked if we would be interested in them doing a whole new flower bed.”

After talking it over with everyone at CFD, Mills decided to give the Home Depot crew a nod.

“They did it for two reasons,” explained Mills. “They said they would like to do it as s display for what they offer, and has a thanks to the CFD for serving the community.”

CFD station three is located on Curtis Parkway.
