U.S. Rep. Tom Graves (R-GA-14) has announced the initial 2013 schedule for the 14th Congressional District’s County Connection Program.

In Gordon County Graves’ constituent service representatives will be available Tuesday, April 23 from 2 – 4 p.m. in the Gordon Chamber of Commerce, located at 300 S. Wall St. in Calhoun.

Graves’ representatives will be available to take scheduled and walk-in meetings and are trained to help constituents on federal issues, particularly matters involving casework with federal agencies. Constituents often seek assistance with Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid, immigration and passports, veterans’ benefits and military service academies, among other issues.

The program was started by Rep. Graves in 2011 to make congressional representation more accessible and closer to constituents’ homes. As in previous years, County Connection days will fall on Tuesdays, and members of Rep. Graves’ congressional staff will hold office hours at free locations in 14th district counties to meet with constituents about federal issues.

“I’m proud to continue the County Connection Program and make Congress more accessible for Georgians,” said Rep. Graves. “Since we began the program two years ago, many constituents have taken the opportunity to save some gas money and have their in-person meeting when one of my constituent service representatives is nearby. As always, my staff will be prepared to assist constituents on any federal issue, whether it’s cutting through red tape on a Social Security or veterans’ affairs matter, or listening to thoughts about policies before Congress.”

Constituents can always receive assistance from the Rome or Dalton District Offices, which are open Monday through Friday. Click here for 14th Congressional District office contact information.
