(Calhoun, Ga)— Another great group is scheduled to headline Gordon Hospital’s Annual Praise and Prayer event. The Crabb Family will reunite for the night and make the event a memorable and wonderful praise and worship time.

The concert is set for Thursday, May 10, at 7 p.m. at Calhoun’s GEM Theatre.

“Once again we are excited to bring these exciting Christian artists to Calhoun and Gordon County,” says Pete Weber, president and CEO of Gordon Hospital. “This year, it is even more exciting because we are changing the venue to the historic GEM Theatre in downtown Calhoun.

If you haven’t had a chance to see the theatre, then this will be a great time. It is absolutely beautiful and the Friends of the GEM have done an amazing job restoring it.”

Tickets for the event are $15, with all proceeds going to benefit the hospital’s new cancer center, which is currently under construction on the hospital’s campus. “The hospital’s Praise and Prayer events have always been our gift to the community,” says Weber, adding, “this year is no different. We are still assuming all costs of the event…it’s just that the money raised from ticket sales will be donated to our Foundation to benefit the building of the new cancer center, which we hope will be complete by the end of 2012.” Few family names in Christian music evoke immediate thoughts of music like the name Crabb. You would have to look long and hard to find a family in modern history that impacted the Christian music world like the Crabb Family. This family came on the scene back in the mid 90’s with enough energy to plow through most obstacles. It was an overnight success story by most comparisons, with nearly 20 #1 songs, 11 Dove awards and multiple Grammy nods, all in less than 10 years.

They toured from the Grand Ole Opry, to Africa and many, many places in between. This large family extended to include spouses and strollers and grew so quickly it became unreasonable to stay intact as one touring entity. So, in 2007, the “Crabb siblings” decided to step into the destiny that God had prepared for them individually! But they are coming back together for this upcoming Praise and Prayer concert! The Crabb Family consists of musicians Jason Crabb, Adam Crabb, Aaron Crabb, and the Bowling Family (Kelly Crabb Bowling and Terah Crabb Penhollow).

The artists will perform individually during the first half of the concert and then collaboratively in the second half.

“We are thrilled to welcome The Crabb Family to Calhoun,” says Weber. “We think our community will most definitely enjoy their musical talents and their message. We are already getting calls from around the Southeast for tickets, but we really see this as our gift to the community and want the residents of Calhoun and Gordon County to come and enjoy this performance.”

The GEM Theatre holds nearly 500 people. Tickets can be purchased at the Box Office beginning Tuesday, April 3. GEM Box Office hours are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 10 am until 1 pm and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3 pm until 6 pm. All seats are reserved.
