Gordon County increases income in 2010

Gordon County has been hit by hard times, but the worst could be over.

The latest data gathered from the United States Bureau of Economic Analysis reveals that Gordon County’s average personal income has increased by 8 percent for 2009 and 2010.

According to the report, per capita personal income in Gordon County was at $27,970 in 2010, an increase of $2,295 from 2009 data, which reported a personal income of $25,695.

The Gordon County figure was in the middle compared to other counties in the region, nestled above Bartow ($26,922), Walker ($26,506), Polk ($25,740) and Chattooga ($23,205). Counties with a higher personal income included Whitfield, Catoosa and Floyd who had the highest personal income of $32,331.
