A North Carolina man was arrested this morning in connection with nearly 100 pounds of processed marijuana, according to a Gordon County Sheriff's Office report.

According to the report:

Alfredo David Castillo, 20, of Greensboro, North Carolina, is charged with trafficking in marijuana.

He was traveling north on Interstate-75 near Calhoun around 8:30 a.m. Friday when Georgia State Patrol pulled him over for a traffic stop.

A search was done on his Volkswagen Jetta, which revealed "nearly 100 pounds of processed marijuana," said the report.

Castillo is being remains in the Gordon County Jail pending bond.

"We will continue partnering with our state law enforcement colleagues to vigorously combat the trafficking of illegal drugs, contraband and fugitives into our county on the interstate highway system," said Gordon County Sheriff Mitch Ralston.
