Gordon County 4-H travel to Athens for State Horse Judging Contest

Gordon County 4-H competed at the State Horse Judging contest Saturday May 6 in Athens. There were 23 junior teams and 88 juniors competing as individual. On the senior level there were 10 senior teams and 40 that competed as individuals at this year’s completion.

Amber Gwinn, Ashley Bennett and Brooke Carr made the junior team and placed 13th out of 23 other junior teams. Ashley Bennett placed sixth as an individual competing against 88 other juniors. Will Carpenter and Anneke Carr made the senior team and placed seventh at the contest.

Anneke Carr placed 10th as an individual competing against 40 other seniors.

“This was our first year competing at the State Horse Judging contest. I am proud of each 4-Her for their hard work and dedication. They did a great job and are looking forward to next year’s competition,” said Becky Pass.
