The college presented approximately 325 awards to students who graduated from GNTC during summer and fall 2010 quarters.
The invocation at the Commencement Ceremony was led by Jason Gamel, GNTC director of Institutional Advancement.
GNTC President Dr. Craig McDaniel welcomed guests and introduced the night's keynote speaker.
McDaniel congratulated the graduates and thanked them for choosing GNTC. "Graduates this is your night," stated McDaniel. "I want to congratulate you on your accomplishments."
McDaniel shared many of the college's latest achievements with the guests. "GNTC is extremely excited to announce we will be moving into Whitfield and Murray counties," said McDaniel.
McDaniel recognized Joe Yarbrough, vice president of operations at Mohawk Industries, Scott Tucker, chair of the GNTC Board of Directors, Louise Smith, chair of the GNTC Foundation Board, and Doris White, GNTC Foundation Board Member, for their continued support of the college.
Vice President of the Northwest Region for Georgia Power and keynote speaker, Anne Kaiser, started the night by sharing her life experiences with the graduates. She discussed the struggles she faced along the way in finding a career.
"You never know where your career will take you," commented Kaiser. "One thing that I have learned along the way is that life comes full circle."
Her road to success was not always an easy journey. She learned you must be eager to work, eager to learn, and the importance of maintaining relationships.
In closing, Kaiser stated, "You are young, you are defying the odds, you may be the first of your family to acquire education, you may be the head of your household, or you may be conquering huge personal hurdles. You have worked very hard and you understand the value of work and family. The work you have accomplished and the future you represent is very humbling. You are at the beginning of your circle."
Provost Jeff King recognized honor and high honor graduates.
