The hallways of Gordon Central High School will be alive with the sound of music this summer – at least for performing arts camp in June.

Kim Watters, director of Gordon Central Chorale activities, will host the 10th annual Performing Arts camp during June 13-17. Music camp is open to all children, in second through eighth grade, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

“We are very excited about the camp this summer. We’ve had children that enjoyed the camp so much, in previous years, that they decided to join our school system,” Watters said.

Every youngster can participate in chorus, piano, science crafts and “hodge podge.” They will also go to choose two activities, out of some of the following: dance, drama, guitar and voice.

The cost of the camp is $50 a student; however, Watters said, if two students from the same family are participating then the second student is only $40. This fee will include all camp activities, a T-shrit and snacks.

Parents and family will be invited to attend a special performance at the end of the week at 11:30 a.m. in the school cafeteria area.

Space is limited and registration has begun. Visit www.gcbe.org for a registration form or email Kim Watters at kwatters@gcbe.org.
