Authorities arrested a Temple, Ga., man after he allegedly traveled to Ringgold to have sex with what he thought was a minor child.

According to special agent Brian D. Lampkin of the FBI:

Jesse Lipscomb, 21, of Temple, was arrested by FBI agents and officers of the Northwest Georgia Safe Child Task Force after traveling to Ringgold to have sexual contact with what he believed was to be a mi-nor child.

Lipscomb now faces state charges of attempted aggravated child molestation and violation of the Computer Pornography Act.

Lipscomb first came to the attention of FBI agents and undercover Task Force officers via the internet. After expressing his desire to have sexual contact with a minor child, Lipscomb made his way to Ringgold where he was instead met by officers and placed under arrest.

Lipscomb was transported to Catoosa County jail without incident.
