  • Saturday Voting 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. at the Gordon County Board of Elections. Vote Early, your vote counts. Get out and vote.

  • Kangaroo Express District 1-30602 inaugural Roo-Rod benefit car show will be on Saturday, July 21. The location of the benefit will be at Sonoraville-Gordon County recreation depart-ment. The entry fee will be $15 if pre registered and $20 the day of the show. The show will be from 9 am to 3 pm, and Judging will be from 1 pm to 2 pm. There will be four classess: Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles and project class. Dash Plaques will be given to the first 50 cars. Each classs will be judged for first, second and third place and will receive a plaque. The Best of Show will receive a trophy, and will be picked by a Notional Guard Soldier. There will be a 50/50 drawing, door prizes, music, kids activities, food and family fun. All proceeds will go to support the USO, Wounded Warrior Foundation and the Georgia National Guard.   • Audi Burchett is local talent and she recently received a contract from Jeff Huskins from JH Entertainment, LLC out of Nashville, Tenn. to be producing her first CD. Jeff Huskins is a multi platinum record artist that truly believes in Audi Burchett and says she has what it takes. Jeff Huskins will also team up with Grammy winning mastering engineer Bob Ludwig to finish the final mastering for Audi Burchett's radio ready CD. Come out Saturday, July 21 to Audi Day at the KOA Campground off of Red Bud Rd in Calhoun to support this local tal-ent Audi Burchett from 10 a.m. –11 p.m. There will be live music, plates, auction, swimming, petting zoo and lots more. Come on out for the fun.

  • The Fourth Annual Calhoun Rodeo. Gates open at 6 p.m. at the Cherokee Capital Fairgrounds in Calhoun. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children, and children 5 and under are free. All proceeds benefit the Gordon County Fire Departments fundraiser Santa in Uniform. Good, clean, family fun. Come enjoy the show.

  • Calhoun's Got Talent premieres at the GEM Theater at 7 p.m. Come see what talent Calhoun has to offer. Audience votes for the advancement of participants on a quest for first place prize of $1,000. Contact the Harris Arts Center for more information.
