  • The Gordon County Historical Society will meet Thursday, February 21 at the Calhoun Depot at 6:30 p.m. There will be a covered dish and Charlie Rhyne will be a special guest speaker. Rhyne is co-author of the book, “The History of Mount Holly,” a small town twenty miles from the Kings Mountain Battle Field where he grew up. Charlie will speak on the Battle of Kings Mountain and the South Fork Boys. The battle will be told from their point of view. The twenty South Fork Boys lived 15 to 18 miles from where the battle was fought. There will be a covered dish 6:30 p.m. Bring a dish and join us. Rhyne will speak at 7:15 p.m.

  • Thursday, February 21 at 11 a.m. the “Me and My House” series continues with seventh and eighth grade students at Coble school preaching at the Calhoun Seventh-day Adventist Church, 1411 Rome Rd. The public is invited to attend.

  • Coosa Valley Regional Services is holding their montly board meeting on February 21 at 10 a.m. at the main office, 3 Riverside Industrial Parkway, Rome. All public is cordially invited to attend.
