The Dizzy Dean District Tournaments started last weekend across the Northwest Georgia region for local Dizzy Dean teams. Gordon County had four teams playing in last weekend’s tournaments and here are the following results:

The 5/6 year olds finished 3rd going 2-2 during the tournament to earn a trip into the “A” State Tournament in Rome, GA starting July 1, 2011.

The seven year olds finished 5th going 0-2 during the tournament, and will be playing in the “B” state tournament in Rock Spring, GA starting July 1, 2011.

The nine year olds finished 4th going 0-2 during the tournament, and will be playing in the “B” state tournament in Whitfield County starting July 1, 2011.

The 11 year olds finished 3rd, going 2-2 during the tournament to earn a trip into the “A” state tournament in Fanning County starting July 1, 2011.

The Gordon County eight year olds, 10 year olds, and 12 year olds will be playing this weekend throughout the Northwest Georgia region and the results will be posted at a later date.
