The Dancing with the Stars team Dr. Kirby Peden and Dr. Cindy Brown will be hosting a country carnival event to raise money for the highly anticipated event March 15 and 16.

The Country Carnival will be held Saturday, March 9, 2013 from 2 – 6 p.m. at the Calhoun First United Methodist Church gymnasium.

A live band, kid’s games, face painting, horse rides, a small petting zoo, old fashioned carnival games and a cake walk will be featured at the event. Participants are encouraged to dress in their best boots, big belt buckles and cowboy hats. With a $10 entry fee per person, children 3 years and under will be admitted free, all proceeds will benefit the United Way.

Calhoun City Schools presents DrumLine, a fundraiser for the United Way and the Gem Theatre, from 6 p.m. to 9 on March 9 from. The event will feature Katie and Michael Clark from the local Dancing with the Stars and special guest Larry Brown. Advance tickets are $15. The presentation begins at 6 with the drumline feature presentation. Comedy with Brown and Clark follows from 8 to 8:30 and the Trashcan Band will perform from 8:30 to 9. Tickets for the event may be purchased in the front office of each school and at the Central Office at 380 Barrett Rd.
