Gordon County voters overwhelmingly voted for Republican Mitt Romney, as did much of the entire state of Georgia.

Romney won Gordon County 13,174-3,436 over President Obama. Libertarian Gary Johnson drew 247 votes.

Nationwide voting results early Tuesday evening showed Romney with a slight electoral edge in what began as a slow start to early voting according to numbers from 2008.

Georgia early voting picked up in the final days, but fell just short of the 2 million ballots cast before the 2008 election.

In Gordon County, early voters got a slow start, but gained momentum.

Overall, 7,565 voters cast their ballots early in Gordon County down from the 2008 results which saw 8,527 come to the polls early, according to records from the Gordon County Elections and Registration Office.

The "lipstick on a pig" award goes to the school BOE and superintendent who never considered

monster new school, maintenance and upkeep expenses AND approval of charter schools amendment run by State of Georgia.

100% GOP led GC officials must be drinking the same elixir as was Newt Gingrich when fantasizing about what he's going to do on Inauguration Day 2013.
