Sonoraville High's Eady Beth Connally (seated, fourth from right) signed a scholarship to play softball at the University of Pikeville in Kentucky on Tuesday.

Connally, a standout catcher for the Lady Phoenix said of signing the scholarship, "I've always wanted to play college softball, and I'm thankful that I have this opportunity. (At Pikeville), I just love the school, area, coach and softball program."

Also attending the signing were: grandfather Jim Eady (front row, from left), grandmother Judy Eady, mother Ashley Connally, father Kip Connally, sister Abby Connally, grandmother Linda Connally, grandfather Mike Connally, Sonoraville head coach Chad Hayes (back row, from left), hitting instructor Katrova Dew, travel team coach Terry Mills, Pikeville head coach Robert Staggs, Sonoraville Athletic Director Brent Mashburn, assistant coach Sara Little, assistant coach Candace Respress and owner of The Yard training facility Brad Lofton.
