Da’Rick Rogers, Tennessee Tech, Calhoun alum
Rogers had six catches for 48 yards and touchdown in the Golden Eagles’ 38-31 loss to Austin Peay in the season finale last Saturday. The junior was also named to the Ohio Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team this week as he finished the season with 61 catches for 893 yards and 10 TDs in his first season for Tennessee Tech after transferring from Tennessee.
Nash Nance, Hampden-Sydney, Calhoun alum
Hampden-Sydney’s season wrapped up a couple weeks ago as they finished with a 6-4 record with Nance leading the way. The former Calhoun signal-caller was named to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference First Team this week along with five teammates after finishing the season with 2,652 passing yards and 24 TD passes. He also ran for four TDs.
Rhett McGowan, Georgia, Calhoun alum
McGowan had two catches for 30 yards in the Bulldogs 45-14 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday, while also handling punt return duties.
Ty Frix, Georgia, Calhoun alum
Frix handled all snapping duties on field goals, PATs and punts for the Bulldogs in their win over Georgia Southern, helping kicker Marshall Morgan go 5-for-5 on extra points and also kick a 37-yard field goal.
Tyler Thacker, University of the Cumberlands, Sonoraville alum
Thacker, the starting center for the Patriots, helped pave the way for 428 rushing yards in Cumberlands 42-24 win over Mid-America Nazarene in the first round of the NAIA Playoffs. The Patriots will visit St. Xavier in the second round.
