The polls in three Gordon County cities will close at 7 p.m. today after a day of light voting.

Voters in Calhoun, Fairmount and Resaca are choosing city council members and Calhoun voters are also deciding on school board membes in today's municipal elections.

With no countywide issue on the ballot, Shea Hicks, county elections supervisor, is predicting a turnout of less than 10 percent.

Calhoun residents can vote at the city recreation department on River Street. Fairmount residents will be voting at the community center on Fairmount highway, and Resaca voters will be casting their ballots at the community and recreation center on Walker Street.

The City of Plainville will no have elections because the only candidates that qualified for office were both incumbents for City Council Post 3 and 4, Scott Whittle and Frances Fossett, respectively.

Results will be posted live on www.gordoncounty.org and www.calhountimes.com.
