A Calhoun man has been arrested and charged with arson and burglary in connection with last week’s fire that destroyed a building and seven vehicles, according to the Calhoun Police Department.

According to Chief Garry Moss of the Calhoun Police Department:

Timothy Allen Keown, 24, of 156 Greeson Loop, Calhoun, was arrested after detectives discovered evidence linking him to the fire which took place Wednesday morning around 5 a.m. at JJ’s Detail Shop located at 1919 Highway 41 South.

While processing the crime scene, detectives were informed by the business owner that several items were missing from the building, leading detectives to believe the fire may have been intentionally set to cover up evidence of a burglary.

Keown remains in the Gordon County Jail with further charges pending.

“We have cause to believe this suspect may be linked to other burglaries in Calhoun, and we are continuing our investigation into his recent actives and expect more charges to follow,” said Detective Lt. Tony Pyle.
