Calhoun City Schools announced its new Partners in Education Program members, The Calhoun Women’s Club and Beth & Company. The groups recently signed on as contributing partners to the program. The Calhoun Women’s Club made their partnership official at their November meeting where they pledged to continue their support of Calhoun students through the contribution of scholarship money, student mentors, local volunteers, and more. They are also working with Calhoun High School students to develop a junior chapter of the Women’s Club to bring awareness to local needs in the community. “We are extremely appreciative of the support of these fine ladies and their contributions to the education of our students,” shared CCS Director of Communications, Peter Coombe. “It is only with the ongoing support and collaborative efforts of our community that we can deliver a comprehensive educational experience that spans beyond the traditional classroom. We look forward to seeing where our partnership with both organizations takes us.” Beth & Company, a local retailer owned and operated by Beth Maddox, recently opened their store in downtown Calhoun across from BB&T bank. They sell merchandise including spirit apparel, specialty embroidered pieces, and more. They support the schools through the sponsorship of student groups such as the Lady Yellow Jacket volleyball players.
